How to Use Candle Sand
*Choosing the right vessel is essential for safe use of Candle Sand. ALWAYS use a vessel that is:
- at least 4 inches in diameter and at least 3 inches tall
- heat-resistant (e.g., ceramic, glass, or metal) and rated for high heat
- non-flammable and non-porous
- stable and tip-resistant
- free of cracks or damage that could cause leaking or breakage from heat
Fill vessel with the Candle Sand, ensuring Candle Sand is at least 2 inches deep. Make sure top of sand is at least 1 inch below edge of vessel–this prevents the flame from rising above the container's edge. Never place flammable items in the vessel.
Insert wick(s) into the Candle Sand, ensuring at least 1/2 inch (13 mm) of wick remains exposed, and wick is at least 2 inches (5 cm) from side of container. Wick may be cut if needed. If using multiple wicks, ensure they are spaced at least 2 inches (5 cm) apart and at least 2 inches (5 cm) from side of container. Use only wicks included with this product or wicks properly rated for use with Candle Sand.
Light wick(s) and enjoy. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Always burn within sight.
How to Reset Candle Sand
To refresh the Candle Sand, first allow the sand and vessel to cool.
Remove the wick(s) and any melted wax.
Refill your vessel with new Candle Sand according to instructions above. Do not use when 1/2 inch (13 mm) or less of Candle Sand remains in vessel.
To refresh the candle's wick, simply pull out the wick, trim and reuse, or replace the wick with a new one according to the instructions above. Remove any burned wicks and debris in the vessel before relighting. Use only wicks included with this product or wicks properly rated for use with Candle Sand.
Light wick(s) and enjoy. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Always burn within sight.
